Step-by-step instructions

First Things First

Our vegetables and fruit come as fresh as can be, so please give them a quick wash before you get started.

As well as your basic cooking tools, you will need...

Medium Pot or Rice Cooker
Nonstick Frypan
Pot
Bowls

Step 1

1 Cook Rice

In a medium pot, bring 112 cups water to a boil. Stir in the rice, cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes until all the water is absorbed. Keep pot covered and let the rice absorb the water off the heat. Fluff the finished rice with a fork.

Tip! Taste the rice - if it is still too firm, add a few more tablespoons of water.

Step 2

2 Marinate Meat

Peel and mince garlic. In a bowl, combine garlic, sesame oil and 1 Tbsp soy sauce. Add steak and coat for at least 5 minutes.

Tip! Marinate the steak longer if you can, it will enhance the flavour

Step 3

3 Cook Meat

Heat oil in a non-stick frypan on medium-high until hot. Add the marinated steak. Cook 2-3 minutes before turning. Flip 3 times for a total cooking time of 10-12 minutes (or to your liking). Remove from pan and allow to rest.

Tip! We supply our meat as a thick-cut portion, as we think a bigger piece cooks much better. You can always cut into thinner steaks if preferred, but bear in mind you will have to keep a closer eye on it to reach your desired doneness.

Step 4

4 Blanch Greens

Put a pot of salted water on to boil. Trim ends off the green beans and cut in half on a slight angle. Cut pak choy in half lengthwise. Add greens to boiling water and cook for 1-2 minutes, until just tender (or to your liking). Drain.

Step 5

5 You Plate It

Combine remaining soy sauce with sweet chilli in a small bowl. Divide rice and greens between plates. Slice steak and serve on top, dressing with as much of the soy/sweet chilli as desired. Garnish with sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Tip! Add soy to sweet chilli gradually to taste to avoid it getting too salty. You can always add more later.
