Step-by-step instructions

First Things First

Our vegetables and fruit come as fresh as can be, so please give them a quick wash before you get started.

As well as your basic cooking tools, you will need...

Baking Tray
Frying Pan

Step 1

1 Make Fries

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Cut the potatoes into 1cm thick sticks. Toss in oil and season with salt and pepper. Arrange in a single layer onto a lined baking tray. Roast for 18-20 minutes, or until brown and crisp, remembering to turn halfway.

Tip! When swapping the chef selected protein; adjust the cooking times and method to ensure your protein is properly cooked and therefore safe to eat.

Step 2

2 Cook Bacon

Heat a pan on medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until brown, about 2-3 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Step 3

3 Prepare Burger Patties

In a bowl, mix together mince, burger spice mix, salt and pepper. Divide to form 4 equal thin patties. Break cheese slices into pieces and place into the middle of 2 patties, top with bacon. Top the loaded pattie with the plan patties and seal the edges (see pic).

Tip! Make sure to press the edges of the patties together firmly, sealing them properly. If they are not sealed, the melted cheese might escape during cooking.

Step 4

4 Cook Burger Patties

Heat a pan on medium high heat with a drizzle of oil. Add the burger patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes each side, or until cooked through. While the patties are cooking, cut the burger buns in half. Toast the buns in the oven with the fries for 2-3 minutes until warmed through.

Tip! The stuffing (cheese and bacon) will be very hot, make sure to rest the patties for a couple of minutes before eating.

Step 5

5 You Plate It!

Slice the pickles and tomato. Spread burger sauce onto the top and bottom of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, burger patties and then pickles. Serve with fries on the side. Enjoy!
