Cheesesteak is a popular regional fast food that has its roots in the U.S. city of Philadelphia, USA. We've made this classic for you with a combination of juicy meatballs, jammy caramelized onions, tender capsicum, and ooey-gooey melted cheese. It's truly addictive!

First Things First

Step 1

1 Caramelise Onion and Capsicum

Slice brown onion and red capsicum finely. Heat a pan over medium high heat and add a swirl of oil. Fry veg for 8-10 minutes, stiring often until caramelised and golden. Season to taste.

Step 2

2 Make Meatballs

Heat oven to 200 degrees. Combine beef mince, panko bread crumbs and egg with salt and pepper. Mix well and roll into 3-4 meatballs per serve. Heat a pan over medium high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Fry meaballs for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.

Tip! Make meatballs small enough to fit into the hotdog buns

Step 3

3 Make Hoagies

Cut hotdog buns down the middle but not the whole way through. Spread with dijon mustard & mayonnaise on both sides. Load meatballs into buns, followed by onion and capsicum mix and swiss cheese slices.

Step 4

4 You Plate It

Place buns on the oven tray and cook for 4-5 minutes until cheese has melted and buns are piping hot. Serve hoagies while still hot from the oven.
