Step-by-step instructions

First Things First

Our vegetables and fruit come as fresh as can be, so please give them a quick wash before you get started.

As well as your basic cooking tools, you will need...

Rice Cooker (Optional)
Wok

Step 1

1 Cook Rice

In a pot, bring 1 1⁄2 cup water and rice to a boil, cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes until all of the water is absorbed. Keep pot covered and let the rice absorb the water off the heat. Fluff the finished rice with a fork.

Step 2

2 Prepare Ingredients

Finely slice steak, remove any sinew or thick fat. Marinate steak in half of the sweet soy mix (dark brown packet) for 5 minutes. Cut green beans into bite sized pieces. Trim the spring onion and slice into 2cm pieces. Peel and mince garlic. Slice capsicum.

Step 3

3 Make Sauce

Combine satay sauce, remaining sweet soy mix (to taste), and 2 tbsp of water in a jug.

Step 4

4 Start Stir Fry

In a wok or pan add a little oil. Heat over high heat and add the spring onion, garlic and capsicum and stir fry for 1-2 minutes. Add beans and cook for 2-3 minutes. Cover with a lid and allow to cook and create a little steam. Set veg aside.

Step 5

5 Stir Fry Steak

Heat the same pan until very hot and add a drizzle of oil. Stir fry the steak for 2-3 minutes, add the veg and the sauce mix and cook for 1-2 minutes until sauce clings to the meat and veg.

Step 6

6 You Plate It

Divide rice amongst plates and top with stir fry. Sprinkle with the roasted peanuts before serving.
